About US

DOF is an initiative of Dr. Demola Okeowo Ph.D. – A Nigerian lawyer. It is a group of concerned Ogun State indigenes both at home and in the diaspora, who are so passionate about the future and well-being of our dear people in Ogun State.

Ogun State is blessed with both human and natural resources. Government at all levels are trying their best also, but their best is not enough to give us the desired results. The welfare and wellbeing of the people can no longer be left to the attention of the government alone. It must be a public-private partnership. This is the major reason why Dr. Demola Okeowo and friends with like minds have come up with this initiative to complement government efforts. This we intend to achieve in all the twenty local government areas of Ogun State.

The group was formed out of Dr. Okeowo’s passion for the less privileged in our society. Being a man that rose from a humble background in Abeokuta, Ogun State, he knows how hard it takes to succeed in Africa, especially in Nigeria. As a young, vibrant, intelligent and resourceful person, he has recorded lots of achievements within and outside Nigeria and has decided to give back to the society through this non-governmental organisation.

We believe that there is no better time for DOF to be established than now. The socioeconomic realities in Ogun State are concerning and those of the country are grimmer. One of the ways that we can actually contribute our quota to the next phase that Nigeria is approaching is by encouraging and promoting the establishment of organisations like DOF. The era of me, myself, and I should be jettisoned and consigned to the dustbin of infamous history. That era never worked, will never work, and cannot take us anywhere.

DOF is one of the ways to show that you can affect lives positively and make huge impacts without being in government. Everyone cannot be at the seat of power. Everyone cannot be the President or Governor or members of Federal or State Assembly, but in our own little way we must continually make efforts to reach out to the needy in our society. The God we are serving is in the image and likeness of the people around us and we must ensure that we put smiles on their faces whenever we have the capacity to do so. Once we are able to achieve that, we are serving God by implication.

DOF is about giving help to the needy. DOF is about rendering assistance. DOF is about reaching out to the most vulnerable in our society. DOF is about service…service to humanity.
